Review: Kick Push

Kick Push Kick Push by Jay McLean
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

GOOD ONE THERE! HAH! I LOVE IT!
2015 MUST READ!

*MC’s Corner*
Note: Spoilers.

• It’s been… a looong time since a book made me ‘feel’. It made me cry, happy, angry and frustrated.

• Honestly, I’m okay with not reading the (coming) second book. This is so good.
Though, if the second book has some good reviews I might. But I really feel like the story is done to me. I don’t want more. I’m happy how it ended.

• The story is really good, although I think the writing should level up a bit. I mean… it that powerful for me. I didn’t say the writing is not good… I said it should level up. *grin*

• CHARACTERS:

o Joshua–I admit the first part did it to me. I LOVE IT!
I shed a few tears. It’s like watching a movie. The one playing Joshua deserves an Oscar.
When I think of this book, that’s the first scenes that comes to my head.
DAMN! It’s so heartbreaking.
Joshua’s childhood is not bad. It’s almost perfect, he had loving parents, and they supported him on his passion–skating, he’s a god on skating world–and of course a girlfriend who loves him and his best friend.
At sixteen, Joshua got his gf preggers. Then after they told his parents, they kick him out. So they went to her parents… all is okay, they survived the labor. At seventeen, Joshua had a son. One day, the gf left. Joshua and his son, Tommy got kicked out from the gf’s parents’ house. A-HOLES!
HOW WILL HE AND HIS SON SURVIVED?!

o Becca–you can check all my reviews on goodreads and you’ll see that if the character on books had demons and shady past. Most of them, I get irritated. No offense with these people… But on books… ugh! They act so so… and it turns out it not that shady. It’s not believable.
Surprisingly, that not the case here… maybe because her demons… are hardcore or something… it makes me sympathize. The whole time I was reading, I keep on asking, what is wrong with her?! Its frustrating but I want to know the answer.
Describe her, hmm… because of an accident from her past she can’t ‘over speak’… speak too much… She likes taking photos and she craves man’s touch and repel on other touch. And yeah… I think there’s a shrink inside her.

o Tommy–he is Josh’s son. He’s so cute! I wanna met him. *grin*

o Chazarae–she’s the one who helped the father and son. Well I just want to thank her.
So… THANK YOU!

o Natalie–she is Tommy’s mum and Josh’s ex. The one who left them.
I understand her reasons for leaving them… But coming back like everything is fine is just… UGH!
What an effing bitch!
• The part where Joah and his dad reconcile… well and the part where Josh trying to reconcile with his dad. One of the best parts. LOVE IT! *thumbs up*

Review: Every Last Breath

Every Last Breath Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First, I just want to say that whenever Roth uses the word ‘wee’, it makes my head hurt. IRRITATING.

Honestly, the first part of this book bored me to death. MEANS it did not start very good. I yawned a lot.
I think I finished four or five books before I picked it up again.
And halfway through it… THE REDEMPTION. I felt it you know?
The feeling of, oh man, this starting to be good. *roll eyes*
Then I finished it.

*MC’s Corner*
Note: Spoilers.

• I am 99.99% sure that the story is not finished. Maybe JLA is done writing Layla & Roth’s love story but not this ‘world’.

• Honestly, I did not enjoy the first two books of this series as much I enjoyed and loved JLA other series. And I obviously did not love the first part of this book.
I think I kinda know the answer now.
I’m pretty sure that never in a million years I would think that gargoyles are hot. It’s really weird.
And then there’s part of book that explained EVERYTHING. *BOOM*
Everything made sense now and the girl had feather and everything. *grin*

• So ‘THE REDEMPTION’ was when Layla started to ‘change’.
*roll eyes* I know I’m too judgmental.

• And… I really do think that they converse a lil bit too much.

The White Rose by Amy Ewing [ARC REVIEW]

The White Rose by Amy Ewing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finished it in one sitting!
AWESOME! LOVE IT!
I think I had this book since… May 2015.
And that time I’m really not in the mood reading YA. So now that I am… I finished it so fast and love everything about it.

*MC’s Corner*
Note: Spoilers.
• The Jewel ended with Violet giving Raven the ‘poison that will make her look like dead but not really dead’ from Lucien that she is supposed to take.

• Now… they are on the run.
And it’s so fun. They just went from the Jewel… to the Banks then to the Smoke and their destination: the Farm. I mean it makes it more realistic by being the characters experiencing/seeing what the people from those factions do.

• MY ANSWERD QUESTIONS FROM THE JEWEL.
o Why rich people do need surrogates? And when/how it started?

o Where the Auguries did came from?

o How /why they built the wall?

• So yeah, were going to find lil bit about the history of the Lone City. Hidden.. long lost history of Lone City.

• I think this is 10x better than the first book.

• WHAT IS ‘THE WHITE ROSE’?
Two things… well three
1ST – it’s the title of the book. *grin*
2ND –it’s the place where our heroes will going to start their ‘uprising’.
3RD –it’s someone’s codename.

• Their powers kinda reminded me the Garde’s Legacies. (Pittacus Lore, Lorien Legacies)

ARC provided by HarperTeen (HarperCollins Publishers) & Edelweiss in exchange of honest review. Thank you!

Review: Bitter of Tongue

Bitter of Tongue Bitter of Tongue by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Fortunate is the one who knows the name of their heart. They are the ones whose hearts are never truly lost. They can always call their heart back home.
Do you remember the name of your heart, Simon Lewis?”
 “I think so,” Simon whispered.
–Mark Blackthorn

This is probably one of my least favorite Tale.
Well, I gave it 5 stars… because big chunk of it is really good. It’s just that the near end part ruined it for me.
It’s so OBVIOUS it was meant to promote the next book of Cassandra Clare.

*MC’s Corner*
Note: Spoilers.

• Well, there nothing wrong on promoting it. Most authors do it. But damn… I don’t like it when it happens.

• It is really awful. I mean, what they did to Mark Blackthorn. It is the time when you kinda hate the Shadowhunters. But could have they done? UGH! HEARTBREAKING.

• I wonder, after this series, if Simon is going to Ascend? I mean… he doesn’t really agree with some beliefs of Shadowhunters, he has his own opinions… (I do too.)
Maybe he’s going to be bitten by a vampire again. GOSH! That would be so COOL! WAHAHAHA
I think Jon will wet his sexy pants.
• I really like George… *sigh* I’m going to miss him…
